Mikel ‘ready to broker deal’ for Osimhen’s transfer to Chelsea

Retired Nigerian international, John Obi Mikel, has expressed readiness to broker the deal that will see compatriot, Victor Osimhen leave Napoli for Chelsea.

Mikel said this on Monday after having an interview with Osimhen on the Obi One Podcast where he and Chris McHardy partner to have candid conversations with football’s biggest names.

“Next season, I know you are going to come to Chelsea, I am telling you, I am going to be the agent to broker that deal,” Mikel told Osimhen as posted by Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano on X.

“I am going to make sure that happens. We have been crying out for someone like you since Didier Drogba left the club.”

A social media influencer on X and associate of Osimhen, Asiwaju Lerry, hinted that the striker could join Chelsea.

“90% of the people around Victor Osimhen are Chelsea fans,” Asiwaju Lerry said.

Meanwhile, Osimhen has had numerous transfer links in the past few months particularly during the summer where reports emerged that many clubs across Europe wanted him.

Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Real Madrid and even Saudi Pro League club, Al Hilal reportedly wanted to prolific Nigerian striker.

The 24-year-old, however, stayed put at Napoli whom he helped win their first Serie A title in 33-years after scoring 26 goals and making four assists in 32 matches.

The Nigerian attacking sensation also became the first African football ever to emerge as top-scorer in the Serie A in a single season in 125-years.
