Mikel Arteta makes Man City Premier League title point and responds to 'immaturity' claims
Mikel Arteta has responded to claims that his Arsenal team celebrated too much after their 3-1 victory over Liverpool last weekend.
Gary Neville labelled the Gunners as 'immature', suggesting that their post-match celebrations showed why they won't win the Premier League this season. He said: "I think those celebrations weren't of a team that can win a title, they're of a team that thought they'd be out of the title race."
Arteta disagreed with this view, stating that his experience with Manchester City taught him there's no link between celebrating too much and being immature. "If I think when I have won Premier Leagues somewhere else, the answer would be: 'big no,'" he said.

Jamie Carragher also criticised Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard for taking photos with club photographer Stuart MacFarlane after the game. However, Arteta defended this action, saying it shows the unity within the team rather than getting carried away in the moment.
He said: "That's something that happens because they have a relationship that comes from what they do every day here at the training ground.
"People are entitled to have their opinions when you do something publicly. Some of them will be positive, some of them not so positive. Our job is to accept all of that and then behave the way you think is the right way to behave and make sure we don't lose that."
Arteta hasn't paid much attention to those who criticise Arsenal for celebrating too much, as he thinks celebrations are an important part of football. He said: "They told me today so I didn't know anything about it.
"But I love it.
