Mike Tyson says he fought Roy Jones Jr after taking some magic mushrooms

Mike Tyson has admitted he did some magic mushrooms before making a remarkable comeback at the age of 53 in 2020.

The boxing legend, now 56, had initially retired in 2005 but returned in an exhibition bout with Roy Jones Jr, 53, which ended in a draw.

In an interview with The Pivot Podcast, hosted by former NFL stars Channing Crowder, Fred Taylor and Ryan Clark, now on YouTube, Iron Mike freely admitted he was under the influence of shrooms during that fight.

When quizzed about why he decide to take the psychedelic drugs, he replied: “We don’t use [mushrooms] to run away. It helps me train, it helps me box better.”

During the revealing chat the former heavyweight world champion said the reason he took the psychedelics is so he couldn’t feel a thing.

Tyson said: “When I’m fighting, I really don’t feel the punches. It’s really just like some magical s***.

“You saw me just fight [against Roy Jones Jr]. I was on shrooms.

“I wouldn’t fight without them, are you crazy? And some weed. 

“I wish I did this s**t in my career, I’m so f***ing mad I didn’t know about this s**t. The word drugs is negative.”

Tyson also revealed how he ended up throwing all of his money away on flashy cars and expensive properties.

He added: “When you’re making that much money it lasts for a long time.

“That didn’t die right away, it took like 15 or 16 years to go broke. I’m throwing s**t like ‘hey baby, you like that car? Ok you come and spend the weekend with me’, just crazy s**t you can do with your money.

“I spent the last money that I had from fighting on rehab, around a million bucks. I had enough money left like two million dollars and I bought a house in Phoenix. The house was difficult to sell, but somebody loved it and boom they gave me the
