Woodburn, Adaramola, Lowe on plans: The Preston North End weekend transfer headlines you might have missed
Preston North End have done some eye-catching business already this summer, signing goalkeeper Freddie Woodman permanently from Newcastle United, but supporters will hope they’re not done just yet.
That optimism will be shared by manager Ryan Lowe in what is his first summer transfer window in charge at the Championship club.

Ben Woodburn update
North End are running the rule of Ben Woodburn after he was released by Liverpool.
The 22-year-old impressed in the second half of Preston’s 3-0 pre-season win against Bamber Bridge on the weekend but remains on trial at the club.
“I thought his movement and interchange was fantastic,” Lowe told Lancashire Live after the game. “He took his goal great, his jumping, his knowing when to press and when not to press and recoveries were fantastic. He has settled in since he has been with us training and he is a fantastic talent.
“We know what he is and we know he is a good player. Ben understands where he is at and we understand where we are at.”
North End join race for Tayo Adaramola
Preston are one of three teams in the race for 21-year-old Crystal Palace defender Tayo Adaramola, Alan Nixon has reported via Patreon.
North End need to strengthen at left wing-back and Adaramola is understood to be on their radar – though they face competition from Coventry City and MK Dons.

Manager clarifies transfer plans
The Preston boss has made it clear what business he feels the Championship club needs to do before the transfer window slams shut.
