Mike Tyson's six-word response to Chris Eubank's fight challenge as admission made
Chris Eubank Sr has disclosed that his offer for an exhibition bout with former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson was swiftly declined.
Eubank Sr, who began his professional boxing career in 1985 and became a middleweight and super-middleweight world champion, enjoyed a successful career defeating the likes of Nigel Benn, Henry Wharton, and Lindell Holmes.
However, he hung up his gloves in 1998 following a loss to Joe Calzaghe and subsequent defeats to Carl Thompson. Unlike some boxing greats, Eubank Sr hasn't made a comeback to the ring, though.

Yet, he did once reach out to Tyson for an exhibition match after retiring - only to be promptly dismissed with a succinct six-word reply from the iconic former world heavyweight champion.
During a Q&A on his YouTube channel, Eubank Sr said: "Mike Tyson is my hero, I always say I have one regret in boxing - and that is Michael Watson - but there's another regret I have. When I was thinking or in that energy of money I had retired, this was 2000 and... I don't even know.
"And I had asked Mike for a chance to fight him in an exhibition match and Mike, his response put me right back into my place and will always have me in my place. Mike said to me... So I'm going to impersonate him; 'Come on man, you're my friend.'
"Wow. Shameful, shameful, that's what happens when you are chasing money. I wasn't evolved at that time, but was still trapped in the game, get money, get, get. Wow."
