Mike Tyson makes sudden announcement ahead of Jake Paul fight

Boxing superstar Mike Tyson is temporarily halting his Hotboxin' podcast to focus on a forthcoming boxing match with internet personality Jake Paul.

'Iron Mike', as he's famously known, will step into the ring again on July 20 to face off against Paul at the AT&T Stadium in Texas. While some details about the fight are yet to be clarified, it's confirmed that neither man will wear headgear and there's a push for it to be considered a pro match. Tyson announced recently that he was stopping podcast production, which he started two years ago together with co-host Sebastian Joseph-Day.

Tyson said: "Ladies and gentlemen, these are my final recordings of Hotboxin'. I really enjoyed being part of this journey and all of the people that I met, the remarkable people that I met, in interviews. This is my next chapter in life, please enjoy the following social on my website for my next venture. I love you all."

The podcast saw Tyson chatting with a number of big names, including UFC pundit Joe Rogan and WWE star The Undertaker during its two-year run. Now, Tyson will shift his attention to preparing for his bout with Paul, who also featured on the undercard in Tyson's previous face-off versus fellow boxing icon Roy Jones Jr. back in November 2020.

Tyson's coach, Rafael Cordeiro, has hit back at claims that Tyson's training videos are fake. Speaking on The MMA Hour, he said Tyson's power is so strong it hurt his shoulder. "After first seeing him, it messed with my shoulder," Cordeiro explained.
