Michael Owen rates Rangers Europa League chances as pundit has two key Braga fears

Michael Owen believes Rangers will pick up another big Europa League win on Thursday night.

But the pundit does admit their defeat to Celtic could mean they aren't at 100 per cent for the trip to face Braga.

It's been a European campaign to remember for Gers who have fought off Borussia Dortmund and Red Star Belgrade to reach the last eight.

They are dreaming of going all the way and winning the Europa League and Braga now stand between them and a semi-final place.

Gio van Bronckhorst's team have been scintillating in Europe but it has been a different story domestically. Sunday's defeat to Celtic saw them go six points behind the Hoops and they will now need a minor miracle to reclaim their Premiership crown.

Manager Van Bronckhorst and skipper James Tavernier have urged the Ibrox men to brush off their derby heartbreak and pick up a positive result on Thursday.

And former England star Owen reckons they will do just that.

However the pundit does worry about Gers' morale after such a costly defeat at the weekend.

And he reckons Braga, who turned over Benfica at the weekend, have enough quality to take advantage if they aren't at their best.

Predicting a 2-1 Rangers win on the night, Owen told BetVictor : “This is a huge game for Rangers’ season. After a disappointing defeat against Celtic at the weekend, the pressure is really on them.

"They’ve done well on their travels, but I worry about the morale now. Braga are a decent side and beat Benfica at the weekend.

"I think (Rangers) will edge this 2-1.”
