Michael Bisping firmly believes Darren Till can still be a UFC champion despite run of poor form

Michael Bisping still believes in Darren Till.

The British UFC legend insists the Liverpool MMA fighter has the potential to become a future UFC champion despite his recent run of poor form.

Till, 29, suffered a third-round submission loss to Derek Brunson in the main event of UFC Fight Night 191 in Las Vegas last September.

That disappointing night at the UFC Apex prolonged Till’s long wait to taste victory at middleweight again.

The Liverpudlian hasn’t won at 185lbs since his split decision win over Kelvin Gastelum in November 2019, which saw him bounce back from his back-to-back defeats by Jorge Masvidal and Tyron Woodley respectively.

And to make matters worse, he suffered an injury during training that required surgery which ruled him out for several months.

However, Bisping has refused to give up on him completely, as he insists he still has plenty of time left to turn things around before it’s too late.

Bisping told his YouTube channel: “Make no mistake, mark my words, Darren Till will be champion one day.

“You’re laughing at me because he’s 1-3 in his last four – Darren Till will be champion one day. His striking is phenomenal. His mind is strong.

“He’s just had a bit of a bad run. And again, 29 years old. He’ll be champ.”

Bisping, 45, is currently in the middle of filming Millennium Media’s remake of the 1985 classic ‘Red Sonja’.

But he still managed to find the time to watch Leon Edwards‘ stunning highlight-reel knockout of Kamaru Usman.
