Darren Till: Dricus du Plessis is 'tough' but I'm going to 'rip this guy's head off'

British UFC star Darren Till has warned Dricus du Plessis that he is going to “rip this guy’s head off.”

The Liverpool MMA fighter recently turned up for UFC 279 in Las Vegas to show his support of his Allstar Training Centre teammate Khamzat Chimaev.

Till has not fought since he was defeated by Derek Brunson at UFC Fight Night 191 in September 2021.

He famously came up short when he challenged Tyron Woodley for the UFC welterweight title three years prior.

The Scouser has been out of action for well over a year now after recently undergoing surgery on a knee injury he suffered prior to the defeat by Brunson last year.

But with a fight against South African Du Plessis lined up in Las Vegas on December 10, ‘The Gorilla’ has got the chance to make a statement against surging contender ‘Stillknocks’.

And it’s an opportunity he intends to seize with open arms as he looks to get his career back on track after a tough few years in and out of the cage.

“I think he’s tough,” Till told TheMacLife.

“I swear I’m just going to come to rip this guy’s head off. I’m going to come to rip this guy’s head off.

“I just want to beat him bad, I really do, but we’ll see.”

The former UFC title challenger has been suffering on the sidelines for more than 12 months from a broken collarbone to a torn ACL to a knee injury which forced him to withdraw from his fight against Jack Hermansson in July.

But he will now look to get back in the win column when he goes up against Du Plessis in a few months’ time.

He added: “It’s good, as good as it can be.
