Michael Beale declares Rangers pressure is NOT off after Betis victory but boss insists he has 'best job in the world'

Michael Beale gushed over Rangers display against Real Betis - but insisted he was still under pressure at Ibrox.

The Light Blues impressed in the second half of their Europa League showing as Abdallah Sima netted the decisive goal to seal the perfect start to the group stage campaign for the Scottish Premiership side. Rangers move through the gears after an even opening period to kickstart the Euro campaign - and Beale couldn't hide his delight at full-time.

He told TNT Sports: "It was a really good opponent. First half we didn’t show enough belief with the ball, having said that the last two chances were with us. With Rabbi and Kemar, but we spoke about that at half time. More belief, more passion and more desire. The goal typified that because the first contacts we won."

He was then asked if he still felt under pressure following the result after a sluggish start to the campaign - which saw Rangers slip behind Celtic in the Scottish title race as well as crash out of the Champions League. He said: "We have to win at the weekend and then we have a quarter final midweek.

"The expectation for me is just around the corner. We have to get back on it. There are areas we need to improve, but in terms of the work ethic and the passion I’ll take that. That is a great starting place for us.

"I have got one of the best jobs in the world. Manager of Rangers football club is a huge privilege and you have to enjoy it. I am manager of Rangers and we won against Real Betis at a packed house. What is there not to enjoy?"
