Micah Richards sends three-word message on TV return after David Beckham 'sticky stuff' joke

Former Manchester City defender Micah Richards has insisted he is not leaving the CBS Sports Golazo panel despite his risque joke about buying Manchester United legend David Beckham's honey on the last Champions League broadcast.

Beckham was in the studio during the last Champions League matchday to promote his new show on CBS 'Beckham and Friends' which will air for the Champions League semi-finals and final. Reflecting on the former England captain's appearance on the show, the quartet of Richards, Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher and Kate Scott discussed what they got up to after the cameras stopped rolling.

The ex-City defender stated with confidence that: "I got his sticky stuff as well didn't I?" Such an outburst led to his colleagues entering hysterics at the double entendre.

Richards quickly clarified: "The honey Jamie. The honey! What is wrong with your minds? It says on the honey, 'David Beckham's Sticky Stuff'."

While it seemed like a harmless joke at the time, welcoming viewers to Tuesday night's broadcast of the Champions League on the American network, Scott and Carragher hinted that Richards may have landed himself in some hot water. When introducing Richards, Scott said: "And yes, he is back, he kept his job everybody - Big Meeks."

"I'm not leaving," Richards shouted to the camera as Carragher applauded. "He's not going but we had to put some work in with HR didn't we," the former Liverpool defender explained. "They [Scott and Henry] are the only two who have not nearly been sacked but we had to do a little bit of work for him didn't we, spoke to the big bosses. You are still on trial."
