Memphis Depay produced one of the best penalties ever to help Barcelona beat Elche 2-1

Memphis Depay’s superb late penalty earned Barcelona a 2-1 victory away at Elche on Sunday afternoon.

Xavi’s side fought back from 1-0 down to secure all three points at the Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero.

Fidel put the home side ahead on the stroke of half-time but second-half goals from Ferran Torres and Memphis sees Barcelona leapfrog Real Betis into third place in the La Liga table.

Barça were awarded an 84th-minute penalty when Antonio Barragan handled inside the penalty area.

Referee Alejandro Hernandez pointed to the spot following a VAR review, handing Memphis the opportunity to win the game for the visitors.

And the Netherlands international made absolutely no mistake from 12 yards, rifling the ball into the top corner of the net in emphatic fashion.
