Martin Odegaard has spoken extremely highly of Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, comparing him to Manchester City's Pep Guardiola.
The Gunners have won seven of their last nine Premier League outings in a run of games that has seen the Spaniard garner considerable praise for his tactics, with his side registering a higher xG (expected goals) than their opponents in eight of those nine fixtures, according to Understat.
However, it wasn't always plain sailing for the young coach, who has received plenty of criticism over the last two years as his side have struggled for consistency, often failing to create high-qualify goalscoring opportunities against deep blocks.
Now, summer signing Odegaard has heaped praise on his boss, claiming that Arteta spends so much time focusing on every detail to help give the north London outfit an advantage over their opponents.
Speaking about the 39-year-old to TV2, he said: “In training every day, there are lots of details and little things he brings.
"I have never experienced a coach who is so keen on details and little things in the game.
"Tiny things like how to bend their races, it helps me a lot. I find it fascinating and try to get as many tips as possible."
The Norway captain also claimed that Arteta has the ability to mirror the success of City head coach Guardiola, who has won three of the last four Premier League titles.
