Mauricio Pochettino's son signs with Spanish side after Watford and Tottenham stints

Gimnastic de Tarragona have given Mauricio Pochettino 's son a chance after the 21-year-old failed to impress at both Tottenham and Watford in recent seasons.

Pochettino's son, Maurizio, has joined the Spanish side on a free transfer after being released by Watford this summer. The youngster is yet to get his break in senior football, after only making one senior appearance for the Hornets.

The right winger joins on a one-year deal, with the option to trigger a further two years should he prove to be a success. But he's taken a rather sizeable dive in order to join Gimnastic, as they play in Spain's third tier.

The former Paris Saint Germain boss moved to Espanyol in 1994 after joining from boyhood club Newell's Old Boys, and went on to become a club legend.

After spending nine years at Espanyol over two separate stints, Pochettino returned as manager three years after retiring as a player, and heads quickly began to turn. Pochettino earned a lot of praise, and was picked up by Southampton in 2013 before Tottenham swooped in just over a year later.
