Matthijs de Ligt's Manchester United transfer 'stance' revealed and more transfer rumours

Like several other Premier League clubs, Manchester United are yet to make a signing during the January transfer window.

The Red Devils continue to be linked with a whole host of names as we approach the end of the month, though Erik ten Hag is yet to feel the benefit of reinforcements to his first-team squad.

Instead, United have focused on outgoings by arranging various loan spells for members of the senior side and those within the academy system.

One deal the club have completed is Omar Berrada as Richard Arnold's successor as CEO, though he is not anticipated to leave his post at Manchester City and the wider City Football Group until the end of the season.

Although there has been little movement as regards incomings, United could move between now and the end of the window to boost their hopes of a top-four finish. One player who has been linked with a move to United is Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt.

Metro reports the centre-back, who Erik ten Hag managed during his time at Ajax, is open to leaving the Bundesliga giants after falling down the pecking order in Germany. But it appears, according to the report, that United may have to wait until the summer in order to sign the player.

Dayot Upamecano and Kim min-Jae are Thomas Tuchel's first-choice centre-back pairing, while the club are also claimed to be interested in signing Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo at the end of the season, another player to have been linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks.
