Mateusz Bogusz to Celtic transfer accelerates as Matt O'Riley exit sparks £8m LAFC question

Celtic are reportedly preparing to escalate their interest in Los Angeles FC ace Mateusz Bogusz with Matt O'Riley heading for the exit.

Record Sport understands that the Scottish Premiership champions have been told they will have to spend big to meet the Major League Soccer sides' valuation of the Poland U21 international. Celtic are underway in talks to land the former Leeds United man - has netted 17 times this season and is viewed as a major asset with a price tag in the region of £8m.

Bogusz notched a stunner in LA’s League Cup semi-final win against Colorado Rapids on Wednesday and won’t be sold before Sunday’s Final against Columbus Crew - but with O'Riley on the brink of a record-breaking move to Brighton the search for a successor is ramping up. The Daily Mail report that Celtic "will now step up his efforts to replace" O'Riley with Bogusz before the end of the window. The question remains if Celtic will hit the valuation of the American outfit.
