'Masterclass incoming!' - Manchester United fans love two Erik ten Hag decisions vs Lyon

Manchester United fans are delighted to see Kobbie Mainoo and goalkeeper Matej Kovar start against Lyon in the club's second pre-season friendly of the summer.

Mainoo played well in last week's 2-0 win over Leeds in Oslo while Kovar - who won the Czech league with loan club Sparta Prague last season - featured in the second half.

Jonny Evans makes the bench for United after signing on a short-term deal this week. The former academy graduate had been training at Carrington as he looks for a new club following his exit from Leicester.

With Andre Onana not quite through the door, Kovar is given the nod in goal in one of just two changes from the line-up against Leeds. Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Alvaro Fernandez start as the full-backs with Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane - who takes the armband - in the middle.

Mainoo is joined in midfield by Hannibal Mejbri and summer signing Mason Mount. Antony comes in on the right as Jason Sancho and Amad complete the front three.

A plethora of United academy stars join Evans on the bench including Omari Forson, Dan Gore and Noam Emeran. Fred makes the bench alongside Brandon Williams and Donny van de Beek, who has now completed his recovery from a long-term knee injury.

However, it was the inclusion of Mainoo and Kovar that had United fans talking. Some took to Twitter to share their delight.
