Massa and Glock to team up in Brazilian Stock Cars

Felipe Massa and Timo Glock are set to team up at Interlagos, a track which will forever bind the duo in the Formula 1 history book.

It was back in 2008 when Massa went into his home race, the Brazilian Grand Prix at Interlagos, with the opportunity to become World Champion.

Lewis Hamilton was also looking to take the title for himself in the changeable conditions, but as the race neared its conclusion, it was Massa who looked set to take the crown.

Further rain late on complicated matters though, with Toyota’s Glock staying out on dry tyres and losing significant pace as a result. Due to the preparations for Massa’s seemingly imminent title win, it had become impossible to pit.

Massa crossed the line to win the race as the celebrations begun, but Hamilton would pass Glock in the final few corners, taking P5 and with it claiming the points needed to become World Champion for the first time.

It was not until 2021 that Glock and Massa got the chance to meet again in front of the Sky F1 cameras and discuss what went down at Interlagos, where Glock said that some people still believe it was an intentional act on his part.

Massa made it clear that at no stage did he believe Glock had done such a thing, while expressing sympathy for the backlash which Glock faced that still continues.

É isso ai, galera! Timo Glock vai ser minha dupla na corrida de duplas da Stock! Ansioso pra dividir o carro com ele.

Yes guys! That is Glock! We’re teaming up for the first race of the Stock Car season!

It seems fitting then that we will now get the opportunity to see this pair fighting for the same cause, as they tackle the upcoming Brazilian Stock Car Pro Series doubles race at Interlagos.
