When does the F1 2022 season start? Full calendar, races, and new tracks ahead of new season
Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton are ready to duel once again in the upcoming 2022 Formula 1 season.
The 2022 season begins in the spring after a winter break and two weeks of testing, following a major rule overhaul in the sport.
A 23-race calendar has been formulated by F1 with the likes of Canada, Japan and Australia returning after missing out on each of the last two seasons due to Covid-19.
Miami is also ready to welcome F1 for a second race in the United States. However, China is still yet to make the calendar but should be back in 2023, when Qatar will also take up a spot on the schedule.
Preparation for the season begins with the first three-day test between February 23 and 25 in Barcelona. A second test is scheduled for March 11 to 13 in Bahrain.
The first race is scheduled for a week later, Sunday March 20, 2022, in Bahrain.
