Martinez concern, McTominay's key role - How Man United could line up for Leny Yoro's first game

Manchester United are closing in on their second summer signing with the arrival of defender Leny Yoro from Lille. The 18-year-old is expected to join United for a fee rising to £58.7million.

Yoro has travelled over to Manchester for a medical and to complete the formalities of his move to Old Trafford. The France Under 23s international is set to sign a long-term contract and will follow forward Joshua Zirkzee, who signed from Bologna for £35.2m over the weekend, through the door.

If United manage to get a deal over the line for Yoro, he could come straight into the starting XI for the Community Shield against Manchester City on Saturday, August 10. That is set to be their first competitive outing since beating City in the FA Cup final back in May - a win that helped save Erik ten Hag's job.

United started with Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane as the centre-back pairing for that one. But with Martinez set for some time on holiday after Argentina won the Copa America on Sunday and Varane not at United after his contract expired, Ten Hag could name an entirely different duo.

In order to help Yoro get acclimatised after his move to United, this could be the perfect game to give him his first start. With that mind, Yoro could be named in the XI alongside one of Harry Maguire, Jonny Evans, Victor Lindelof or Martinez if the Argentine is back following his country's Copa America win.

With the defender struggling with injury last season, though, United may decide to rest him up further ahead of the new season if they have any lingering concerns over his fitness. Matthijs de Ligt is another name linked
