Martin Roberts emotional as he shares update after health battle

Martin Roberts could barely contain his emotions as he shared a positive update with fans. The Homes Under the Hammer host was left terrified last month when he suffered a health scare which he said was a case of life-or-death as he had "hours to live".

Last month Martin 58, told how he was rushed to hospital and said he had to undergo emergency surgery. Martin said that after feeling unwell things suddenly took a turn for the worse and upon going to hospital, a 'massive amount of fluid' was discovered around his heart.

Luckily, Martin was discharged a week later and the star has now taken to his Instagram account on Tueasday (May 24) to share a video message announcing his comeback.

"So I've got some news and it’s actually pretty amazing news," he began. "Today is a very special day, it's quite an emotional one to be honest because I've spoken to the doctors and they've said as long as I take it easy I'm ok to start work. So I am back today filming Homes Under The Hammer."

Overcome with emotion, the presenter continued: "I'm in the valleys of Wales, I never thought I'd be so happy." Martin then captioned his post with "It’s a VERY special day… so I decided I should wear a VERY bright shirt to celebrate."

And fans were thrilled to see him back doing what he does best - as well as being distracted by his shirt. @terri4146 said: "So happy for you, look after yourself." @hellenclose wrote: "So happy for you Martin glad you are feeling better."

@bossyflossy3488 replied: "Welcome back … great shirt… and your looking really well." @katie_byrne35 commented: "Love the shirt. Glad you are doing so well. Take Care."
