Martin Dubravka lands Celtic transfer pitch as 'possible' Atletico Madrid goalkeeper raid resurfaces

Confident Lubo Moravcik insists he would 'recommend" Newcastle United goalkeeper Martin Dubravka make a move to Celtic this summer.

The 35-year-old impressed at Euro 2024 for Slovakia but could be pushed down the St. James' Park pecking order next season after Eddie Howe's side sealed double deal for Nottingham Forest’s Odysseas Vlachodimos and John Ruddy from Birmingham City - with Nick Pope expected to remain as the No. 1 at the English Premier League side next season. The veteran keeper reportedly held talks with Brendan Rodgers' side last month amid the Hoops search to replace Joe Hart.

Speaking to the Sunday Post, Moravcik admitted he would like to see his fellow countryman make the switch to Glasgow's east end - as he declared the player the perfect fit for the Premiership champions: “If this is a possibility, I have absolutely no doubts that Martin has the qualities required to play for Celtic.

“He is in his mid-thirties and has great experience from playing in the English Premier League and for his country. I was in Germany at the Euros to support my country and Martin was brilliant.

“He is tall, makes important saves and is comfortable with right foot and left foot. He makes good judgments on the park and gives the team proper security.

“I also believe Martin would have no problem coping with the pressure of playing for Celtic. We are talking about a highly experienced professional. The chance to play for Celtic against Rangers and in the Champions League would be something that Martin would embrace and accept the challenge.

“If he wants to ask me about what it is like to play for Celtic then I would recommend it to him. I had four brilliant and memorable years at Celtic and it would be lovely to see another
