Adam Idah faces Norwich discipline for going AWOL as Celtic named as factor behind striker missing flight

Angry Norwich City boss Johannes Hoff Thorup admits Adam Idah faces disciplinary action after going awol for their pre-season flight to Germany.

And the Canaries boss reckons that speculation over a move to Celtic player a factor in Idah missing the friendly clash with Hoffenheim. The Ireland international was a stand-out for the Premiership champions during his loan spell last season and Brendan Rodgers is keen to bring the striker back for the upcoming campaign. Reports surfaced that Idah's future would be cleared up following the game with the frontman left watching on from the sidelines during the clash with Celtic chasing a deal.

Post-match, the boss confirmed Idah will be disciplined internally for failing to fly out with rest of squad. He told the gathered press: "We have rules and everyone has to stick to them." It was noted that the interest from the Scottish champions was "probably a factor" in missing the flight. He added that there was "no way" Idah could play in the game as a result of the disciplinary issue.
