Marlon Fossey gives Fulham future summer update as Bolton Wanderers loanee sets season aim

Marlon Fossey is aiming to get Bolton Wanderers as high up in the table as possible in the remainder of his loan spell from Fulham as he admits he is unsure what the Championship side's stance is to his future.

The 23-year-old joined Wanderers towards the start of the January transfer from the Cottagers until the end of the campaign.

The defender has been a huge success at right wing-back, turning out 15 times so far for the League One club, scoring once and notching five assists in that time.

The Cottagers are aiming for promotion back to the Premier League and look incredibly likely to reach that goal with Marco Silva's side at the summit of the Championship.

Fossey still has a year to go on his contract at Craven Cottage and admits there will be a discussion over the summer over his future which will need to take place with his parent club.

But for now, he is enjoying his loan spell at Wanderers which be feels is among the high points of his career so far, and is enjoying his time at the club and the step-up he has made from under-23s football at Fulham, which he got a taste of last season during a loan period at Shrewsbury Town before it was cut short due to injury.

Fossey said: “All I can say is I’m enjoying my time here. It’s been definitely one of the more high periods of my career and as you guys (the media) know, it’s not as easy as what the player wants or what the club wants.

"We’ll see what happens but I’m enjoying my time here and I’m looking forward to the last games.

“I don’t know what Fulham are thinking at the moment. I’m sure they’re watching me but we’ve got games to go and we’ll see after the games.
