Bolton Wanderers player ratings vs Crewe Alex - Ricardo Almeida Santos and Amadou Bakayoko good

James Trafford - 7

Collected most aerial deliveries and dealt with what he needed to when called into action.

Will Aimson - 7

Decent defensively with aerial clearances, interceptions and no nonsense clearances. Distribution out of the back in windy conditions up and down at times.

Ricardo Almeida Santos - 8

Captain got his head to most aerial deliveries Crewe put in the box and looked good with the ball at his feet. Also came out on top in one v one duels throughout.

George Johnston - 7

Part of back three which kept Crewe at bay and no nonsense defending in windy conditions at Gresty Road. Put cross in which led to winning goal at the death.

Kieran Sadlier - 7

Replaced the injured Marlon Fossey at right wing-back. Looked one of Bolton's better players in the first half, but final ball was lacking for the most part, but put in free-kick which hit post and led to late winner,

MJ Williams - 6

Struggled to get a handle on the midfield in a direct encounter in the first half. Improved after the break and saw shot got over the bar.

Aaron Morley - 6.5

Like Williams, struggled to have much impact on the game in the first half in a direct encounter. Wanderers looked better when he did get on the ball with his passing abilities.

Declan John - 6.5

Got forward at times in the first half to support attacks and did the same after the break in solid afternoon's work.

Dapo Afolayan - 6.5

Struggled to impact game much in first half and was booked after coming together with Travis Johnson. Improved as half wore on and forced Richards into good save after break, and also hit the post.

Dion Charles - 6.5

Great work rate as always to chase down lost causes throughout the encounter, though no real chances to speak of.

Jon Dadi Bodvarsson - 7
