Margate-based The Falcons Kickboxing Club celebrating world junior titles from Hero of the Hall show for Aston Young and Cleo Musslewhite

Two young kickboxers from The Falcons Kickboxing Club in Margate have become junior world champions.

Aston Young, 14, beat Belgium’s Achraf Boujadaini at the Hero of the Hall show in Chippenham earlier this month while 12-year-old Cleo Musslewhite saw off Caitlin Charles.

Boujadaini was slightly heavier than Young and had a good height advantage on him.

But this didn’t concern the Falcons member, who set straight to the task with some fantastic hand and leg combinations.

Boujadaini ensured Young wasn’t having everything his own way, although the Kent fighter was setting the pace in every round.

Using his speed and technical ability he overcame any offensive move his opponent came up with and after the final bell Young was crowned as the WRSA junior world champion.

Musslewhite, meanwhile, had trained so hard for her opportunity at the WRSA junior title she wasn’t going to let it pass.

The contest was set for five 90-second rounds of full contact action against Charles.

She was straight across the ring, not giving Charles a second to settle herself under a barrage of punches.

It was down to the referee to step in and start a standing eight count. From there, he concluded Charles was unable to carry on under Musslewhite’s onslaught.

Another fight team member had great success as Zachary Evans, 13, won his first full contact contest.

Eleven-year-old Esmay Amini narrowly missed out on the decision on his first night show performance and Vinnie Young, 10, took his first contest and even took a second fight on the night.
