Marcus Rashford told his season aim after signing fresh Manchester United contract

Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha believes Marcus Rashford cannot afford to be complacent after signing a new contract at Old Trafford.

Rashford has agreed a new long-term deal at his boyhood club which will keep him at United until the summer of 2028. His previous contract was due to expire next summer.

The 25-year-old has agreed the new deal following his best season in front of goal for the Reds. The England international found the back of the net 30 times for United last term and was comfortably the club's top scorer.

Rashford has 123 goals in 359 games for United since he burst onto the scene in 2016 with two goals on his debut in the Europa League against FC Midtjylland. The striker will be seeking to add significantly more to that tally over the next five seasons. And former United striker Saha believes Rashford must target truly becoming one of the best players in the world.

Speaking to Betting Odds, Saha said: “I have a warning to Marcus Rashford. When you sign a new contract you feel relieved, but that’s not what we want.

"He cannot be complacent now. I want him to be as aggressive as ever, he should be aiming to be one of the top three players in the world."
