Manchester United star Marcus Rashford confirms retirement plans and reveals Wayne Rooney chat

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has confirmed that he has plans to continue playing until he is the age of 37.

The United academy graduate, who stepped off the bench in the second half of the Reds' 3-2 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in Las Vegas earlier this week, enjoyed the best season of his career to date last term, scoring 30 goals in a single campaign for the very first time. His career was resurrected by manager Erik ten Hag and he scooped the club's Player of the Year award.

Just months after he considered leaving the club to get his career back on track, Ten Hag resurrected his fortunes in astonishing fashion, resulting in him producing a series of world-class performances. He also scored three goals for England at the World Cup in Qatar.

Though the forward, who has been set the target of bagging 40 goals this season, will only turn 26 in October, he has already been quizzed about his plans beyond his playing career by former Reds captain Gary Neville. Rashford has confirmed that going into coaching will be option for him, but it's not a path he intends to head down immediately after hanging up his boots.
