Marcus Rashford 'not happy' with Manchester United form

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag admits Marcus Rashford is "not happy" with his form for the club.

Rashford has scored one goal in 15 games this season and he was sent off in the first half of the Champions League defeat by Copenhagen on Wednesday night.

The 26-year-old was upbraided by Ten Hag last week for partying hours after the 3-0 Manchester derby defeat to City at Old Trafford. Ten Hag branded Rashford's decision to attend the gathering at Chinawhite in Manchester city centre as "unacceptable".

Rashford's last goal was for England in their 3-1 European Championship qualifying win over Italy last month but he has not registered for United since the 3-1 reverse at Arsenal on September 3.

"I think he's not happy, we're not happy," Ten Hag said of Rashford's form. "He has high expectations for himself and, of course, in this moment he is not in his best form but I know he will be back.

"I know when the team is playing better, he will play better, score goals, I am confident on that. Also this season, he will improve, he will score goals, he is totally in the team, he is totally aware of everything.

"It (improved form) can happen very quickly, sometimes you only need one game and I am sure he will get there."

Rashford signed a new five-year contract with United worth £325,000-a-week in July after he plundered 30 goals in a career-best 2022-23 season.

The academy graduate was also voted the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year by supporters last term.
