Marcus Rashford has already dismissed leaving Manchester United amid PSG links

Marcus Rashford has already dismissed the idea of leaving Manchester United amid reports that he is weighing up a move to PSG.

MEN Sport reported last season that Rashford was thinking about his future after United's 4-1 defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. It was understood that the England international was happy to stay at Old Trafford, though, when Erik ten Hag was appointed at the end of the campaign.

However, reports on Thursday claimed that PSG are interested in a player who can play both on the wing and in the number nine position. It is believed that the French champions have got in contact with Rashford but that no discussions have begun with the United chiefs.

PSG may not be able to persuade Rashford to move to Paris in any case. In an interview back in 2020 with The Mirror, the 24-year-old claimed that he did not see his future away from the Theatre of Dreams.

He said: "For me, I never look beyond Manchester United. As a kid, I've never looked beyond Manchester United.

"In my mind, it wouldn't sit right for me to be pulling on another shirt. I just want to do the best I can for the club whilst I'm here, so hopefully I'm here for the long-term."

A lot can happen in a couple of years and his feelings may have changed. Rashford is into the final year of his contract but the club do have an option of extending his stay by a further 12 months should they wish to.
