Marcus Rashford blames lack of stability at Manchester United for team's problems

Marcus Rashford believes Manchester United have worked hard to maintain the same morals that they had during the Sir Alex Ferguson era since he left the club almost a decade ago.

United are onto their fifth permanent manager since Ferguson left, with David Moyes, Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer all failing to deliver the standards the club expected.

United have generally struggled since Ferguson left and Rashford puts that down to a lack of stability at the club. He also believes United have been going through a transitional period since he made his first-team debut in 2016.

"Man United, back in the day, they had been successful for many years before, so success was like, when you get it, once you get taste for it, and you learn how to make it more of a sure thing," said Rashford, speaking on Uninterrupted. "Whereas now, since I have come into the team, it has been a transition period for the club.

"Finding stability has been difficult. That is why we have had so many ups and downs, but at the same time, it is a club that is rich in history. You're just steadily trying to get that feeling back. But it is not going to happen overnight."

Asked what has changed since Ferguson said farewell in May 2013, Rashford added: "It changed, but the morals... they [the club] have worked hard to keep the morals the same, and I don't think they'll ever go because of what he has done for the club."
