Marc Skinner sends warning to Man United players and gives team news ahead of Brighton WSL clash

Manchester United travel to Broadfield Stadium to face Brighton on Sunday as the Women’s Super League resumes following the international break.

The Reds are unbeaten in the league this season having swept aside Everton in a 5-0 rout last time out. Marc Skinner's side secured a 2-1 win over Aston Villa on the opening day of the season before drawing with both Arsenal and Leicester. While the Seagulls opened the season with a 2-1 win over Everton, they have fallen short in all three WSL games since.

United have won six of their eight top-tier clashes with Brighton. Last term the Reds put eight goals past the struggling Seagulls, notching two 4-0 wins.

Despite Brighton's underwhelming start to the season, United manager Marc Skinner has warned his side not to take Sunday's opponents lightly. “We don't look at any other team's results," he said. "If you only judge your confidence off results then, in my opinion, you’re not doing something right because it's about performances. In the game we lost in Europe, I felt we outperformed PSG, so I'm happy with our performances.

“When I'm watching other teams’ performances it's a lot closer this year and it's not like you’re going to smash and grab - no team smashes and grabs and then defends for 90 minutes, we’re all always creating chances. I think we’re going to see a lot of variance in scores but these are the types of games that we have to collect three points.

"But we don't believe we deserve to get anything unless we earn it. This is a game where you have to earn it.
