Erik ten Hag has chance to give two Manchester United players what they deserve

The last thing Manchester United needed from this international break was further injuries to contend with. In one fell swoop last Friday, two fresh worries for the trip to Everton next weekend emerged, though one selection dilemma will solve itself easily.

Should Andre Onana not be in a position to feature, new signing Altay Bayindir is all but guaranteed to take on the responsibility. However, the knock to Marcus Rashford was of much deeper concern.

Due to others' poor form, Rashford was already playing out of position on the right to allow the younger Alejandro Garnacho to take up his preferred role on the left. While the winger's issue is not thought to be catastrophic, the trip to Merseyside provides a chance to give the England international and one of his teammates what they deserve.

It must be admitted Rashford's form has not been up to scratch this season. Where last year he was confident, this campaign has been littered with mediocre performances and he has not clocked up the statistics we have been accustomed to seeing.

Rashford has been due a break from the starting line-up to recharge and while nobody wishes that would have come from an injury scare, this is a chance for Erik ten Hag to do just that. The question now is, who could replace him?

Antony is the favourite but his performances have been worse than Rashford's. However there is one man who deserves a chance, Facundo Pellistri.

The Uruguayan's most recent display for United saw him grab a crucial assist as the Reds beat Fulham 1-0 at Craven Cottage. In those 27 minutes on the park, he showed more promise than Antony's preceding hour
