Mancunian Way and Oxford Road CLOSED due to 'rescue of a person' on busy road
The Mancunian Way was closed for over an hour today as emergency services descended to 'rescue a person' on the busy road. Transport for Greater Manchester says the full length of the busy city centre road was closed from around 12pm.
Emergency services were called to the scene with pictures showing fire crews and police in attendance. Drivers were warned to expect delays while bus services were being diverted.
A spokesperson for Transport for Greater Manchester tweeted at 12.10pm: "Due to an ongoing police incident, the Mancunian Way is closed full length and Oxford Rd is closed between the city centre and Booth Street - both in each direction. Most bus services are diverted via Upper Brook St."
