Ten Hag calling for United to be 'ruthless'

Erik ten Hag wants Manchester United to be more 'ruthless' in their squad clear-out as part of the next phase of their rebuild. United only obtained fees for two sales last summer when there were five permanent arrivals, but they are planning for more outgoings than incomings before next season.

Harry Maguire, Brandon Williams, Alex Telles and Anthony Martial will be made available for transfer - as will Eric Bailly if the Ivorian fails to hit the appearance milestone to trigger Marseille's obligation to buy following an initial loan spell there this campaign.

Isak hits back at United manager Ten Hag

Alexander Isak has hit back at Erik ten Hag's claims that Newcastle United like to time-waste by pointing out that his Manchester United side tried and failed to do just that themselves.

Ten Hag had criticised Newcastle's tactical approach in the build up to their match at St. James' Park over the weekend, but instead it was his side that looked to run down the clock during the match.

Newcastle were by far the better side and thoroughly deserved their 2-0 victory, creating 22 attempts during game compared with United's six.
