Manchester United transfer news RECAP Marco Asensio and Man Utd fixtures latest

Erik ten Hag and Manchester United have undertaken the first part of a much-needed rebuild during the summer transfer window and will have to wait until January to strengthen further.

Despite missing out on priority target Frenkie de Jong - in what was a widely public pursuit - United did strike-up deals for Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen, Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro and Antony.

Martin Dubravka also arrived on loan from Saudi-backed Newcastle to offset Dean Henderson leaving.

Malacia, Eriksen and Martinez are among those to have hit the ground running after touching down at the club as they have quickly become mainstays in the starting XI, while Antony made a mark on his debut before the Brazilian played additional minutes in the Europa League opener against Spanish outfit Real Sociedad.

Next up for United in that competition is a trip to Moldova on Thursday afternoon.
