Manchester United transfer news LIVE Cristiano Ronaldo latest and Man Utd injury updates

Manchester United have three days left to prepare before they return to action against fierce rivals Manchester City.

It will be nearly a month since United last played in the Premier League when they compete in the Manchester derby on Sunday and players have begun to return to Carrington following the international break.

Scott McTominay, Raphael Varane and Tyrell Malaca all reported for duty on Tuesday and were followed by Antony, Diogo Dalot and Christian Eriksen on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Dalot is hopeful of receiving a new contract offer from Manchester United amid ongoing interest from clubs across Europe.

Right-back Dalot has started the season superbly, lining up in all eight of United's matches and scoring twice on international duty for Portugal in their 4-0 victory over the Czech Republic last week.

Dalot has technically entered the last year of his contract but United have a one-year extension they are expected to trigger before the end of the January transfer window.

An opening weekend defeat at home to Brighton was then followed by an utterly embarrassing 4-0 drubbing at Brentford.
