Manchester United transfer news LIVE Sir Jim Ratcliffe 'planning staged takeover' and Sergio Reguilon update
Manchester United slipped to yet another defeat on Tuesday evening.
The Reds have had a disappointing start to Erik ten Hag's second season at the helm and have now got a less than impressive record of five defeats in their last seven matches across all competitions. Rasmus Hojlund opened the scoring on Tuesday with his first Old Trafford goal, only for grinning former United forward Wilfried Zaha to level for Galatasaray.
Hojlund's superb second was not enough to earn a much-needed victory, however, with Kerem Akturkoglu quickly equalising for the visitors before Andre Onana’s horror pass led to Casemiro getting a red card and the Turkish champions winning a penalty, which Mauro Icardi missed before he quickly atoned for by racing through to dink home the winner.
Attention will now turn to Saturday's Premier League clash against Brentford when the Reds will be hoping to have Tottenham Hotspur loanee Sergio Reguilon available once again. Meanwhile, reports have suggested United bidder Sir Jim Ratcliffe may be planning to take a minority stake in the club as part of a ' staged takeover' of the Old Trafford outfit.
