Manchester United transfer news LIVE Hojlund and Maguire latest as Utd reject £30m McTominay bid

Manchester United will get their new Premier League campaign underway in less than a week but it looks like it's going to be a busy six days at Old Trafford.

United have turned their focus to selling players after completing the signing of Rasmus Hojlund but rejected a £30million bid from West Ham United for Scott McTominay on Monday night. The Hammers also submitted an unsuccessful bid of £30m for Harry Maguire but the offers for each player were separate and not a joint bid.

Sources doubt whether West Ham will make a renewed bid for McTominay but they are understood to be considering an improved offer for Maguire. United did not provisionally plan to sell McTominay, 26, but have identified Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat as an attainable replacement to come in.

Meanwhile, United are in talks with Real Sociedad over the sale over midfielder Donny van de Beek.

The transfer window is in full swing and United have got their hands on three players well in advance of the September 1 deadline, with Rasmus Hojlund joining Mason Mount and Andre Onana at Old Trafford.

A goalkeeper, a midfielder and a striker were Erik ten Hag's priorities heading into the summer window, but that doesn't mean their business ends here, with a move for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat also on the cards, as well as plenty of possible departures.
