Manchester United transfer news LIVE Harry Kane updates plus David de Gea latest

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea was all over the back pages for all the wrong reasons on Monday following his error in the defeat to West Ham.

His mistake for Said Benrahma's goal cost United the chance to open up a four-point gap on Liverpool. The Spaniard's contract expires at the end of the season and MEN Sport understands his position as No.1 is far from safe.

United have been linked with a whole host of goalkeepers in recent months, with Brentford's David Raya one of those rumoured to be on Erik ten Hag's wish list.

Beyond the De Gea situation, United are still in a fight to finish in the top four this season. The Reds need to win three of their last four matches to be guaranteed a spot in the Champions League.

TODAY'S BIG TALKING POINT: Should Ten Hag replace De Gea in the summer? Have your say here.

What a difference a week makes.

Just seven days after taking a giant stride towards securing a top-four finish with a 1-0 win over Aston Villa, Manchester United, all of a sudden, are now looking nervously over their shoulders. Sunday night's 1-0 defeat to West Ham United has left them just one point ahead of fifth-placed Liverpool with just three weeks of the season remaining.

David de Gea's latest howler gifted the Hammers all three points at the London Stadium, leaving Erik ten Hag and his United players to reflect on a second away defeat in just four days. The Reds have taken just four points from the last 12 on offer and have scored just one goal in their last three matches. They're stuttering at the wrong time.
