Manchester United transfer news LIVE Denzel Dumfries link, Antony updates, Man Utd injuries

Manchester United are preparing to return to first-team action following their winter break. A trip to League Two side Newport is next up for Erik ten Hag and his team in the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon (4.30pm).

Newport booked their fourth round date with United by overcoming non-league Eastleigh after a replay. The two clubs - separated by three divisions and 75 positions in the pyramid - will now meet on our TV screens.

With one eye fixed on the January transfer window, meanwhile, United continue to be linked with several players. United expect a quiet month with regards to incomings due to lingering FFP caution.

Alvaro Fernandez, Donny van de Beek and Jadon Sancho are among those to have departed on loan as outgoings remain the primary focus. Investment from INEOS founder Sir Jim Ratcliffe has been rubber-stamped, but is subject to Premier League ratification as United wait for that £1.25billion deal to make a proper impact.

It is believed the Reds rejected the idea because Wan-Bissaka is still seen as a key member of the squad at Old Trafford who Ten Hag does not want to lose.

Wan-Bissaka remains under contract until 2025 after recently having an extension clause triggered in his deal.
