Manchester United transfer news LIVE Antony to Man Utd latest and Cristiano Ronaldo updates

Manchester United will be looking to edge closer still to completing the signing of Ajax winger Antony on Bank Holiday Monday.

MEN Sport reported on Sunday that the Reds still remain confident of securing the deal with the Amsterdam club to bring the 22-year-old to the Theatre of Dreams. Meanwhile in the Netherlands, Antony once again did not feature in the squad for the Eredivisie clash with FC Utrecht.

Alfred Schreuder, the Ajax manager, seemed frustrated with the whole situation claiming that 'the world is all about money, which is very sad'. As one player's future looks close to being finalised, another remains hanging in the balance.

Cristiano Ronaldo was a substitute once again for the Reds at Southampton and with the transfer deadline fast approaching, it is still unclear if he will remain at United. Reports have suggested that Napoli and AC Milan could be keen on the 37-year-old but only if they have to sell one of their players.

Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly has only two exit routes out of Manchester United if he wishes to leave the club.

The Portuguese ace told United before the start of pre-season that he wished to leave the Old Trafford outfit should a 'reasonable offer' be submitted. So far there has not been an offer made to the Reds for Ronaldo however, according to The Sunday Times, the 37-year-old is still wanting to leave.
