The summer window may have closed but that hasn't stopped some of the transfer speculation surrounding United. Several players have been linked with an Old Trafford exit, including Casemiro, whilst free agents are being linked with Erik ten Hag's team.

Elsewhere, Antony has been heavily linked with a move away from United. It is claimed that former Reds boss Jose Mourinho is interested in signing the Brazilian on loan for Fenerbahce.

In terms of potential incoming, Adrien Rabiot continues to be mentioned after being released by Juventus this summer. However it is said that the plan outlined by Ineos involves excluding offering big contracts to players around the age of 30 or older.

The September international break means that players are currently away with their national teams with United back in action against Southampton on September 14.

Martinez completed a personal redemption arc when he played 73 minutes of this year’s shock FA Cup win over Manchester City, having been ruled out of the 2023 edition due to injury.

He revealed that the trip to Wembley was one occasion through which he managed to speak with Sir Alex Ferguson, who himself lifted five FA Cups during his reign.

“I have met Ferguson three or four times,” Martinez revealed. “Ferguson is the God of Manchester. He is a person who gave a lot to the club and who continues to give because he remains connected.

“Now, the new owners have also included him. When [Argentina] won the World Cup we spoke a little, he congratulated me. Later, also when we won the Carabao and the FA Cup -
