Manchester United transfer news LIVE Fernandes and Varane injury latest as Tottenham sack Stellini

Manchester United will continue their preparations for Thursday's match with Tottenham today but appear to have suffered another injury setback.

United will be back in North London just four days on from their penalty win at Wembley to take on the flailing Spurs, who sacked caretaker manager Cristian Stellini on Monday following the 6-1 defeat to Newcastle.

A win for Erik ten Hag's side will see them go nine points clear of fifth-placed Spurs and take the ascendency in the race for a Champions League place.

However, it's looking increasingly likely that they will be without Bruno Fernandes after he suffered an ankle injury against Brighton.

Ana Pinho, Fernandes' wife, posted a photo on her Instagram story on Monday evening which showed Fernandes sitting on a sofa with his right leg elevated on a stack of cushions. His foot was wrapped in a brace while a bigger moon boot and a pair of crutches were at his side, which doesn't bode well for his chances of playing on Thursday.

Tottenham Hotspur have announced that they have sacked interim head coach Cristian Stellini ahead of Thursday night's Premier League clash with Manchester United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
