Manchester United told they've signed 'fantastic player' as Andre Onana move gets player's approval

Here are your Manchester United morning headlines for Friday, 14 July.

Lampard outlines why Mount will be a perfect fit

Frank Lampard believes Mason Mount will be a 'fantastic player' for Manchester United after his move from Chelsea.

The 24-year-old become United's first signing of the summer after an initial fee of £55m was agreed with a further £5m in add-ons. The midfielder had only a year left on his deal at Stamford Bridge and has now committed his future to United for the next five seasons.

Lampard managed Mount at both Chelsea and Derby County. He took the midfielder to Pride Park on loan, before handing him a breakthrough at Stamford Bridge during his first spell as manager. And Lampard believes Mount will fit in at Old Trafford and will improve those around him by setting high standards.

Onana signing has approval of one United player

One player who would welcome the signing of Andre Onana at Manchester United is Antony.

The Brazilian, who signed from Ajax last summer, was a team-mate of Onana's at the Dutch giants. Manager Erik ten Hag was keen to reunite with Antony at Old Trafford and he is now targeting the same with Onana.

United are looking to agree a fee with Inter Milan, with all parties said to be keen on getting a deal done this summer. David De Gea left United last weekend and the Reds are now looking to recruit a number one shot-stopper ahead of the new season.
