Manchester United told Sofyan Amrabat quality that none of their current players have

Louis Saha believes the addition of Sofyan Amrabat would bring an intensity that is unmatched among the current Manchester United squad.

The Moroccan international has been consistently linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks, having enjoyed a brilliant campaign with Fiorentina. He also impressed at the World Cup, helping his nation become the first from Africa to reach the semi-finals.

United are open to making further signings once they finalise a £72m deal for Rasmus Hojlund, with midfield a known point of interest for manager Erik ten Hag. The Dutchman could see Fred and Donny van de Beek sold, opening up a gap in midfield.

In that instance, United would be open to signing Amrabat and Saha believes the 26-year-old's intensity would set him apart from the rest of the squad.

"Manchester United could benefit from the addition of another midfielder because you hear rumours that Fred or Scott McTominay could leave the club this summer," Saha told Betfred.

"You definitely need to have two defensive midfielders in your squad, so if Fred or Scott do leave this summer, then you’re going to have to bring another player in. Marcel Sabitzer also left the club in the summer as well.

"Amrabat is a player that I really like and he’s got a great intensity level that I don’t believe is matched. It would be exciting to see him at Manchester United and he would improve the overall balance of the squad.
