Manchester United will face Burnley in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Carrington on Wednesday afternoon.

It will be the second time United have faced Premier League opposition in a friendly match this month, having defeated Everton at their training ground a week ago.

Erik ten Hag is set to use the match as another opportunity to build fitness levels in the early stages of the season, with a number of fringe players set to feature.

Anthony Martial made his first appearance in 79 days in the friendly win against Everton last week, and he could feature again as he looks to build match sharpness.

It could even be an opportunity for Rasmus Hojlund to earn his first unofficial runout in a United shirt as he continues his rehabilitation from a minor back injury, though there is no indication he will feature.

Scott McTominay, Harry Maguire, Donny van de Beek, Hannibal Mejbri, and Dan Gore were among United's other starters who featured against Everton a week ago.
