Manchester United target Victor Osimhen gives Napoli injury update

Victor Osimhen has reassured a Napoli fan that his injury is “just a small thing” and nothing serious after missing his club’s latest two Serie A matches.

The attacker, who has 25 goals this season, is among Erik ten Hag’s list of potential Manchester United summer targets, albeit Harry Kane has been earmarked as the primary pursuit.

Osimhen is supposedly of interest to Paris Saint-Germain with Napoli expected to see their star man leave at the end of the season. Reports suggested that the attacker had missed the loss to AC Milan and win over Lecce due to a tear in his abductor muscle, although he has now seemingly returned to individual training.

It is still anticipated that he will miss at least the first leg of Napoli’s Champions League clash with Milan - whom they recently lost 4-0 to - on Wednesday, and possibly the return tie.

However, Osimhen sought to reassure a fan outside the club’s training facilities that he is well on the way to recovery. The fan told Italian outlet Il Napulegno that the Nigeria star said: “Don’t worry, it's just a small thing.”

The attacker recently insisted he was happy at Napoli when addressing speculation about his future. The 24-year-old told L'Equipe: "The truth is, what's happening to me is incredible. I hope the fans are as happy as I am, as we are.

"The whole environment you're talking about deserves this happiness. They are the ones who gave me the confidence that a young player needs to really explode."
