Manchester United takeover latest as Rio Ferdinand slams Glazers

Manchester United's takeover saga continues to rumble on despite a show of defiance from supporters after the victory over Nottingham Forest.

Thousands of fans remained in place at Old Trafford to demand the Glazers sell the club after the 3-2 win on Saturday. In November, the American family announced they had launched a 'strategic review' into their ownership.

However, nine months on and we are still no closer to finding out what the outcome of this review is. Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani and Sir Jim Ratcliffe are the two favourites to takeover should the Glazers sell but MEN Sport understands the Qatari banker is concerned United will not be sold at all. And in our latest look at the takeover headlines, a former United defender has made his feelings known on the Glazers.

Rio Ferdinand has laid into The Glazer Family for their lack of communication over the sale of Manchester United but urged fans not to allow their ill feelings to hinder performances.

It's been 10 months since Manchester United were effectively put up for sale, with bidders invited to come forward with offers. Since then, very little has been heard and supporters continue to wait.

United have been hamstrung by Financial Fair Play this summer window, though the rising debt on the club hasn't helped either. That is a result of the Glazer's neglect over the past decade and beyond. Ferdinand has insisted the owners remain the biggest issue at the club and urged them to bring the takeover speculation to a resolution.
