Fred confirms signing

Former Manchester United midfielder Fred looks to have confirmed Altay Bayindir’s transfer from Fenerbahce, insisting the goalkeeper is heading to a 'great team'.

Bayindir looks set to become the fourth major signing at United, arriving in a €5million (£4.29m) deal. The 25-year-old will replace Dean Henderson, who is expected to join Crystal Palace permanently after a £20m deal was agreed.

While Bayindir's transfer to United has been on the cards for some time - the club had conducted initial medical tests early last week - it has seemingly been put on hold as Henderson's exit is finalised. Erik ten Hag's side are expected to push on and conclude the deal this week.

Fred joined Fenerbahce in a €15m deal earlier this summer, making his debut against Samsunspor last week. The Brazilian may only have been teammates with Bayindir for a matter of weeks, but speaking during his delayed unveiling press conference, appeared to confirm the goalkeeper's imminent exit.
